Slippage is more likely when an asset has limited liquidity, its price is changing quickly or the cash-out amount is large compared with the liquidity available through the selected conversion route.
Zedkr Cash displays the estimated conversion result, fees, net USDC and approximate fiat payout before you complete Slide to confirm.
What is token slippage?
Cryptocurrency prices and available liquidity can change quickly. If the available conversion price changes before the transaction is completed, the amount of USDC produced may also change.
Slippage affects the asset conversion through Uniswap. It is separate from the fiat market rate used to estimate how much you will receive through your selected payout app.
What causes slippage?
- Available liquidity for the selected asset
- The size of the cash-out
- Rapid market price changes
- Other trades occurring through the same liquidity pools
- The available Uniswap conversion route
- Price impact from the conversion itself
Market conditions can change between the time a quote is prepared and the time the conversion is completed.
What is price impact?
A larger conversion can consume more of the available liquidity and produce a less favorable average conversion price.
A cash-out amount that is small compared with the available liquidity may have limited price impact. An amount that is large compared with the available liquidity may have greater price impact.
Price impact and slippage are related, but they are not the same:
- Price impact results from the size of your conversion relative to the available liquidity.
- Slippage results from a difference between the expected conversion result and the result available when the transaction is executed.
Both can reduce the amount of USDC produced by the conversion.
Which assets can be affected?
Zedkr Cash currently supports:
- ETH
- USDG
- CASHCAT
- LOCK
An asset with deeper liquidity will generally experience less price impact than an asset with limited liquidity. However, lower slippage is not guaranteed.
Stable-value assets may experience less price volatility, but their conversion results can still be affected by available liquidity, price impact and the selected route.
How much slippage can occur?
In extreme market conditions, the total cost of a cash-out, including the protocol fee, Relay fee and conversion effects, can reach 20%.
This does not mean every cash-out will experience these levels. The actual result depends on the asset, amount, available liquidity and market conditions at the time of the conversion.
Review the complete quote before confirming the transaction.
Is slippage a Zedkr fee?
It is a result of changing market prices and the liquidity available through the Uniswap conversion route.
The confirmation screen may separately display:
- Conversion
- Relay fee, displayed as Bridge (Relay)
- Protocol fee
- Total fees
- Net USDC
- Market rate
- Estimated fiat payout
- Estimated $ZED cashback
The protocol fee and Relay fee are separate from token slippage and price impact.
Where can I see the effect of the conversion?
- The amount and approximate value of the asset being sold
- The conversion information
- Total fees
- Net USDC
- The USDC-to-fiat market rate
- The approximate fiat payout
The Net USDC amount shows the approximate amount available after the asset conversion, routing and applicable fees.
The conversion line may show $0 when the quoted conversion cost rounds to zero or no separate conversion charge applies to the available route. The quoted output can still reflect the current market price, available liquidity and price impact.
Can slippage affect my fiat payout?
Your estimated fiat payout is calculated from the net USDC amount and the current rate for your selected payout currency.
The basic calculation is:
Net USDC × fiat currency rate = estimated fiat payout
Token slippage affects the USDC produced by the asset conversion. Changes in the fiat exchange rate can separately affect the estimated payout in your selected currency.
Is the quoted amount guaranteed?
The asset price, liquidity and conversion route can change before the onchain conversion is executed. The USDC-to-fiat exchange rate can also change before a buyer fills the order.
The completed fiat amount appears in your Zedkr Cash order details after the order is settled.
How can I reduce the effect of slippage?
- Review the conversion result and estimated payout carefully.
- Compare the amount being sold with the net USDC shown.
- Avoid confirming during rapid market price movement.
- Request a new quote if the current quote is no longer acceptable.
- Consider using a supported asset with deeper available liquidity.
- Consider whether a smaller cash-out would reduce price impact.
Dividing a cash-out into multiple smaller transactions may increase the total fees you pay because each cash-out is charged separately.
Do not complete Slide to confirm if the conversion result, fees or estimated payout are not acceptable.
What happens if I reject the quote?
You can close the confirmation screen, wait for market conditions to change or prepare a new quote.
A new quote may show a different conversion result, fee breakdown, market rate and estimated payout.
Can slippage be refunded after cancellation?
Once you confirm the cash-out and the asset conversion is completed, the conversion cannot be reversed through Zedkr Cash.
If you later cancel an eligible order:
- Recovered funds are automatically returned to your Para wallet as USDG.
- Transaction fees are not refunded.
- The recovered amount does not return as the asset you originally sold.
- You keep the $ZED cashback earned when you successfully completed Slide to confirm.
Cancellation is temporarily unavailable while the order displays Buyer matched — awaiting fiat because a buyer payment is in progress.
Do I need additional funds to cover slippage or gas?
Applicable fees and conversion effects are reflected in the cash-out quote. You do not need to send additional funds to cover them separately.
Zedkr covers the gas required for the Zedkr Cash cash-out transaction. If you transfer an asset from another wallet into your Para wallet, the sending wallet may require its own network fee for that separate transfer.
What should I do if the conversion result looks incorrect?
If you already confirmed the transaction and believe the conversion was processed incorrectly, open chat support and send us a message with:
- Your Deposit ID
- Your public Para wallet address
- The asset and amount you sold
- The quoted conversion information
- The total fees
- The net USDC amount
- The expected fiat payout
- Relevant transaction information
- A screenshot of the quote or completed order, if available
Zedkr Support can review the order and coordinate with the relevant service provider when necessary.
